Updates

What's actually been built, month by month.

There are no reviews on this site yet, so this is the evidence instead: a dated record of what changed, including the parts that were cut. If it goes quiet here, that tells you something too.

Now

What's on the bench this month.

IN PROGRESS

Live calendar connections

Moving from a one-time copy to a connection that keeps up when the source changes — and correctly tells cancelled apart from temporarily missing.

IN PROGRESS

The second adult

Two separate accounts in one household, so an ask sent by one is answered by the other from their own phone. This is the piece the whole product depends on.

IN PROGRESS

Answering without the app

A carpool parent shouldn't need an account to say yes. A link in a text, one tap, no install — scoped to that one request and expiring with it.

IN PROGRESS

Notifications worth trusting

A morning brief that arrives, and change alerts that fire once rather than four times for the same event.

The record

September 2026

Picked the look, and set a date to aim at.September 22 — the Mint palette became the product's visual direction after a run of alternatives, and the goal moved from exploring mockups to putting a working app in founding families' hands by mid-November.

Turned off message sending until it can be trusted.September 21 — the app can draft a message and let you review it, but it cannot send one yet. Rather than ship a half-working send, it's disabled and says so.

Read the competition properly.September 21 — a full teardown of the other family apps, including what they do better than us. The conclusion: the opening isn't a prettier calendar, it's making a responsibility genuinely transferable.

The iPhone app became real.Through September — the calendar, home brief, school message review, rides, meals, people and care all running natively on a phone rather than in a prototype.

Approved the rules the product isn't allowed to break.September 2 — the constitution behind this whole site: quiet until important, truth over convenience, asked is not covered, AI interprets but never decides. Features have been cut for breaking these.

Started the rebuild.September 1 — a working version already existed, but on foundations that made the hard parts harder. Starting again on a proper domain model was the slower and correct choice.

Earlier months covered the original working version: the calendar, coverage engine, meals, people and care that this rebuild is preserving rather than discarding. The vision page has the full picture of what works today.

Watch it get built.
